Clint Chaplin

Samsung Electronics
Clint works on home networking technology standards for Samsung Electronics, with a current emphasis on UWB and 802.11 technologies.
He was the founder and chair of the IEEE 802.11 Task Group r, which developed an amendment to 802.11 to speed up the handover process.
He is also active in the IEEE Standards Organization Standards Board.
With more than 30 years of engineering experience in computer technology, he previously worked at Symbol Technologies in their Wireless
Systems division, where he architected the management infrastructure for 802.11 system control, as well as working on or leading several
wireless security projects. He also was active in IEEE 802.11 Task Group i, as well as the Wi-Fi Alliance where he was elected to the
position of Technical Chair and subsequently elected to the position of BoD Chair. Before Symbol Technologies, he worked for DesaWare,
Microsoft, MicroLabs, and Sirius Systems Technologies/Victor Technologies.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering, a Masters of Science in Computer Science, and a Masters of Engineering
with a concentration in high speed digital communications from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Tom Siep

Tom has over 25 years' experience in developing and standardizing wireless technology. His primary responsibility at CSR is wireless standards support with emphasis on how they can promote product interoperability for end-users. He is active in various roles in the WiMedia Alliance, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, and the Digital Living Network Alliance.
Prior to joining CSR Tom operated a consulting firm, offering management consulting services to consortia and individual companies. Tom has also worked in R&D at Texas Instruments, including in the areas of short-range wireless, user interfaces and industrial automation.
Tom is a published author, and holds six U.S. patents. He also holds a Master's degree in Management Information Systems and a Bachelor's degree in Behavioural Science.

Mike Krell

Mike Krell is director of corporate communications for Alereon, overseeing all aspects of the Company’s corporate communications, including branding and positioning, web site development, media/analyst relations, technical communications, trade show activities, advertising, direct mail and collateral development. Krell has spent more than 20 years involved in all facets of marketing, from pricing and promotion through developing strategic business plans for both large, multi-national corporations as well as dedicated Internet businesses.
Prior to joining Alereon, Krell was the director of corporate communications for Legerity, a leading supplier of IC’s for the telecommunications market. Prior to Legerity, he was vice president of marketing and business development for TheResidentClub, a leading supplier of private-labeled, Web-based communities for real estate operating and financial services companies. He was responsible for defining and generating TRC’s product offerings including Web site development and content relationships, as well as directing the efforts for sponsors and local partners. Krell has also served as an independent consultant and a principal and founder of the Customer Manufacturing Group, focusing on Internet sales and marketing. His clients included Transmeta Corporation, SCG Realty (now Archstone), the Internet Coupon Network and Calendar Club.
Krell spent the majority of his career at AMD where he held a variety of key marketing positions. His responsibilities included developing strategic business directions for various product groups within the PC and telecom markets, managing AMD’s tradeshow and training programs, and developing an Internet strategy and roadmap for the company’s processor group. Krell earned his bachelors of science degree in electrical engineering and his bachelors in science in computer engineering from the University of Michigan.

Asaf is vice president of marketing for Wisair, managing the company's marketing and business development activities. He joined Wisair in 2005 as Director of Business Development, before being promoted to the position of VP Marketing in 2008. Before joining Wisair, Asaf was Director of Marketing at Yitran, a power line semiconductor company. Prior to that he worked as a product marketing manager and managed the Bluetooth applications group at Texas Instruments in the Short Distance Wireless business unit. Asaf also has 10 years of previous experience in RF & microwave components and sub-systems R&D. Asaf holds BSEE (with honors) and LLB degrees from Tel Aviv University and has practiced commercial and labor law for several years.

He has been working on WiMedia and MBOA (Multi-Band OFDM Alliance) as one of founders since mid 2003. His research areas of interest are an wireless MAC technology especially on UWB, wireless USB, wireless LAN, Bluetooth. Dr. Kim holds a Ph. D. degree in Wireless Communication systems from Korea University.

Alaa Muqattash

Alaa Muqattash is a wireless networking expert at Olympus Communication Technology of America Incorporation, San Diego, California. He received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan in 2000, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in
Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona in 2002 and 2005, respectively. During his Ph.D., he helped develop several communication protocols and theoretical results in the field of wireless networks. He has published more than 20 journal
articles and refereed conference papers in that field. He is currently involved in the standardization and development of communication protocols for high-speed wireless, multimedia-capable personal-area networks.
